Ultimate Alliance Duel

When: weekly, starting roughly 2 to 3 weeks after a server opens. Runs a full week with a daily theme; older guides describe it as Monday to Saturday, while the official-server account says the highest weekly total on Sunday wins. See the conflicts register item 15. What it is: your alliance is matched against another alliance, often from a different server. Each day has a theme; you score points by completing that theme's tasks; the alliance with more points wins the day. Requirements: your alliance needs at least 20 members. The separate Ultimate Alliance League additionally requires top 40 in the world by alliance power. Why it matters: the best rewards in the game, and effectively the only bulk source of gold coins and alchemical elixir — the materials that gate tech research. If you only play one event seriously, play this one.

The short version

  1. Hoard all week, spend during the matching day. This is the whole strategy.
  2. Check the schedule tab on Monday and plan which day gets which stockpile.
  3. Buy or grind the duel battle pass for its coins and elixir.
  4. Research the double reward chest node in the duel branch before anything else there.
  5. Play Saturday properly — kills day plus the Guardian Altar.
  6. Claim every personal point milestone as it unlocks.

Step 1 — Hoard, then dump

This is the most important habit in the game, and the duel is why.

You score duel points for actions you were going to take anyway — finishing research, training troops, upgrading gear, using speed-ups, rallying crystal giants, gathering, fighting. Take those actions on a quiet Wednesday and you get the result. Take the identical actions on the duel day whose theme matches and you get the result plus personal point rewards plus ranking rewards plus points toward your alliance winning the day.

So all week, bank everything: speed-ups, gear materials, hero shards, completed-but-unclaimed research, troop batches, stamina items. Then unload on theme.

Check the schedule on Monday. The schedule tab lists every day's theme for the whole week. Plan there, not on the day.

Step 2 — Work the daily event screen

Tap the event icon on the right side of the screen to open everything for the current day. It shows:

  • Today's theme
  • Time remaining to score
  • Your points so far
  • Personal reward milestones — claim these as you hit them
  • The task list for today's theme
  • How many points each task is worth

That last item is the one to read carefully. Tasks are not equal. Spend your stockpile on the highest-value tasks first, not the ones at the top of the list.

Step 3 — The battle pass

The duel has its own battle pass with three editions. It pays gold coins and alchemical elixir, which are the materials many research nodes require and which are otherwise scarce.

The community view on value: the duel battle pass compares favourably to the standalone tech pass, which is generally judged poor value for the elixir it provides. If you are going to buy one research-material pack, this is the better one. See Spending Guide.

Whether or not you buy, complete the pass tasks — the free track still pays.

Step 4 — Research the double chest node

Inside the tech research lab there is a duel branch, and it contains what is arguably the most valuable single research node in the game: double rewards from all duel chests.

Every chest you open in this event, every week, forever, pays twice. Nothing else in the research tree has that kind of compounding return. Prioritize it as soon as the duel branch is available to you. See Tech Research.

The duel branch also raises your point generation across every area of the event, which raises your personal rewards and helps your alliance win days.

Step 5 — Know what the week looks like

Each of the six days carries a different theme. The themes rotate and the source material does not document the full list, but two days are worth calling out specifically:

Day 4 is the crystal giant day, and it is brutal on time. This day is essentially "rally crystal giants repeatedly." One player burned 6,000 stamina and about three hours of real time on it. Bank stamina items ahead of duel week and clear your evening if you intend to compete.

Day 6, Saturday, is kills day, and it is the most intense day of the week. Two things run at once:

  • PvP scoring. You gain points by defeating enemy troops — and not only your matched opponent's. Attacking any player on your own server or the enemy alliance's server scores.
  • The Guardian Altar. A separate, major sub-event with its own rules and rewards. It has its own guide: Guardian Altar / Kills Day. Read it before Saturday.

Two rules that catch people out

Only packs containing Diamonds count toward pack-related tasks. Buying a pack without Diamonds scores nothing, however expensive it was.

If you switch alliances mid-event, you keep your personal points and personal chests, but you cannot contribute alliance points or receive victory rewards for that day.

Matchmaking

VS pairs you with alliances from your own server first, then draws cross-server opponents after 2 to 4 weeks. A young server's first duels are local.

Step 6 — Understand the league system

Tap league to see your alliance's standing. It shows your league, the other alliances in it, and who is due for promotion or relegation.

Your alliance gains or loses 6 Elo points per alliance battle won or lost. Elo determines your league; your league determines the size of your end-of-week rewards. The match tab shows the weekly match card for your league. The Ultimate Alliance League runs 2-week seasons, paying daily ranking rewards, victory rewards, weekly tier rewards and season settlement rewards.

A known pain point: several alliances reported ELO and promotion behaving unexpectedly at season end in late August 2026, with alliance names vanishing from the League list. If your promotion looks wrong, raise it with in-game customer service rather than on Discord — support handles account-specific disputes.

The schedule tab also records each day's winner and the MVP player, which is useful for alliance leaders trying to work out who is actually carrying the week.

Step 7 — Rewards

You are paid at three levels:

  • Personal point milestones, claimed during the day
  • Daily battle rewards, at the end of each day
  • Weekly rewards, scaled by your league and your placement within it

The most valuable categories are energy cores — which gate gear promotion and the red gear breakthrough — and the gold coins and elixir that gate research. Both are bottlenecks that almost nothing else relieves at volume.

For alliance leaders

Post the week's schedule in chat on Monday. Most members will not open the schedule tab themselves, and the hoard-then-dump strategy only works if people know what is coming.

Name the day. A single message each morning saying what today's theme is and which tasks pay best is worth more than any amount of general encouragement.

Saturday needs coordination, not effort. See the Guardian Altar guide — sharing altar coordinates the moment it spawns is the single highest-value thing a leader does all week.

Recruit for activity, not power. A 500-million-power member who logs in twice a week scores less than three active mid-size accounts.

Common mistakes

Playing the duel reactively. If you are deciding what to do when you open the event, you have already lost most of the value. The decision is made on Monday.

Spending your stockpile on a quiet day. Same actions, a fraction of the reward.

Skipping the duel research branch. The double chest node pays back indefinitely.

Writing off Saturday because you will get attacked. Altar fighting does not cost you your shield on kills day — see the Guardian Altar guide. Saturday is the most rewarding day of the week and there is far less risk than people assume.
