Hero Gear

Gear roughly doubles a hero's power. One documented example: 1.5 million power without gear, 2.7 million with it. It is not a side system.

There are two separate systems here — normal gear, which any hero can wear, and exclusive hero gear, which belongs to one specific hero. They stack.

The short version

  1. Four slots per hero: helmet and gloves boost attack, body and legs boost defense.
  2. Focus only on purple and gold gear. Scrap everything below and recycle the shards.
  3. Level gear with gear shards; promote it with energy cores. These are different tracks.
  4. Gold gear at level 100 + promotion 10 can break through to red using blueprints.
  5. Do not spread energy cores across many pieces. Finish one piece at a time.
  6. Exclusive gear is per-hero, unlocked with 10 shards, upgraded with blue stones.

Normal gear — slots and rarities

Four slots: helmet, body armor, leg armor, gloves. Helmet and gloves boost attack; body and legs boost defense.

Six rarities: grey (common), green (uncommon), blue (rare), purple (epic), orange/gold (legendary), red (ultimate).

Red gear cannot be found — only crafted. Everything else drops normally.

Normal gear — where it comes from

For orange (gold) gear specifically, there are three sources:

  • The Arena shop — one orange piece per week. The most reliable free source in the game, and the reason to care about the Arena ladder even if you dislike PvP. See Arena and Champ Clash.
  • Hero Gear Lucky Chests0.25% chance of an orange piece, raised to that figure on June 25, 2026.
  • Paid packs.

Purple and below come from adventure boxes and general chests in volume.

Older video guides list "adventure mode" and a weekly shop item as orange sources. The official-server account points specifically at the Arena shop. See the conflicts register item 19.

Two housekeeping rules worth knowing:

  • Once you hold more than 800 pieces, new white, green and blue gear is auto-dismantled. You do not need to manage clutter below that.
  • Heroes on an active march queue cannot have their gear removed (since July 30, 2026). Recall before reshuffling.

Normal gear — two upgrade tracks

Levelling uses gear shards and raises base stats. Maximum levels by rarity:

  • Grey — 20
  • Green — 40
  • Blue — 60
  • Purple — 80
  • Gold — 100

Promotion uses energy cores and goes up to promotion level 10. It changes post-promotion stats rather than base stats.

These are independent. A piece can be level 100 at promotion 2, or promotion 10 at a low level. You need both maxed to break through to red.

Higher levels cost progressively more shards and cores.

Normal gear — the red breakthrough

Grey through purple gear simply stops at its maximum level. Nothing further happens. Gold gear is different: at level 100 and promotion level 10, you can perform a breakthrough to red.

The breakthrough costs 10 breakthrough blueprints and 100 core energy.

Where to get blueprints: the alliance store using in-game currency, or the shop for real money. The alliance store is the route to use — the paid blueprint pack is widely judged the worst-value pack in the game specifically because blueprints are meant to be rare.

Red gear grants a large block of bonus stats and extra attributes on top of everything gold already gave. It is the ceiling. Levelling red gear requires gear shards and energy core shards; levelling normal gear requires gear shards and energy core crystals.

The mistake that costs people months

Do not spread energy cores across every piece you own. This is the most commonly regretted error among experienced players — one veteran with 500 million power reported having lots of gold gear all sitting at promotion level 2 or 3, and therefore no red gear at all, because the cores went everywhere instead of anywhere.

Finish one piece. Then start the next. A single red piece beats four gold pieces at promotion 3.

The same logic applies to gear shards: scrap grey, green, and blue gear and feed the resulting shards into your purple and gold pieces. Your strongest hero gets the best gear.

Where energy cores come from

  • Lucky Cards event — by far the most efficient source; one run produced 430 (Lucky Cards)
  • Ultimate Alliance Duel — daily mission rewards (Ultimate Alliance Duel)
  • Executioner's Fall — cited as a strong daily source
  • Carnival Night and Core Mining reward chests
  • The shop, for gems or cash — the hero gear special pack is considered good value

Exclusive hero gear

A newer system, introduced with Season 1. It is separate from everything above and does not replace or reduce your normal gear stats — it adds on top.

Exclusive gear — what makes it different

It is bound to one hero. A piece labelled for Vela works only for Vela. It cannot be moved, swapped, or shared.

It grants four exclusive skills that no other hero has, plus changed combat animations and bonus power. Skills unlock one at a time as you raise the star level.

It has its own star track, not a level track.

Once unlocked, it cannot be unequipped. It activates automatically in combat.

Exclusive gear — unlocking and upgrading

To unlock: 10 exclusive gear shards. You choose which hero's gear to unlock when you spend them — there are no hero-specific chests, so you always pick the target yourself.

To upgrade: more gear shards plus an upgrade material. Video guides call it "blue stones"; the official server names Energy Prisms. These are probably the same item, unconfirmed — see the conflicts register item 20. Costs rise with each star level.

The track: five orange stars, then five red stars. Five red is fully upgraded.

You cannot use normal gear shards or energy cores here. Only blue stones and exclusive gear shards.

Skills upgrade automatically with star level — there is no manual skill upgrade.

Exclusive gear — where to get it

Events only. The system launched August 13, 2026. Core Mining was the first major source (Core Mining), and Exclusive Gear shards were also promised for the Titan Spine Isle season.

Since August 27, 2026 there are Exclusive Gear missions in the Ultimate Alliance Duel and Fortune Mobilization, which makes those two dailies a steady shard source rather than a one-off event grind.

From September 3, 2026 Exclusive Gear displays in march animations.

There were no shop packs selling exclusive gear shards directly.

Season 1 covered Vela, Scarlet, and Elias. More heroes were expected in later seasons. Recommended unlock priority: 1. Vela, 2. Scarlet, 3. Elias.

Common mistakes

Upgrading blue and green gear. Wasted material. Scrap it and feed the shards upward.

Spreading energy cores. The single most costly gear mistake. One piece at a time.

Buying the blueprint pack. Alliance store, in-game currency. The cash pack is poor value.

Gearing four squads. You do not have the material. Two squads, properly geared, beats four half-geared ones — see Heroes, Factions and Queues.

Ignoring promotion while chasing level 100. You need both at maximum to break through. Level 100 at promotion 2 is not close to red.
